Hey guys,

So for those of you who don't already know, I will be undergoing PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) surgery on my eyes this coming Saturday, the 19th. My eyes have been really bugging me lately and it's been hard to keep even focus on the computer to do art, and since I am due for new glasses anyway, the optometrists and ophthalmologist recommended PRK Surgery instead.

To clear up to those who do not know how the process works, I have a pretty high prescription on my eyes, as well as apparently less than average corneal thickness (the outer layer of the eye), making the regular LASIK process not an option for me. PRK involves the same Wavefront laser, but the starting process is different, instead of cutting a circular flap in the eye tissue and lifting that to the side to use the laser, they use a solution to soften the upper layer of the eye and then using a mechanical device they scrape off that layer of tissue before using the laser to correct the vision. Afterwards they put in medical contacts that need to stay in about 5 days before they take them out again for you, this is to prevent anything getting into the eyeball while it is regrowing the tissue that has been scraped off.

Due to the eye needing to heal itself by regrowing tissue in that manner, the recovery process of PRK is longer than LASIK and takes about a week and a half to two weeks of being bedridden in the darkness and listening to only audiobooks, as the eyes will revolt at signs of light. Some people have issue enough even with a light being on at night inside, that they need to wear sunglasses.

As it stands, my Christmas will be spent with me being Santapire, the Christmas vampire, hiding in the dark corner next to the tree, hissing at anyone that brings light near. But if the surgery succeeds, it means my troubles with my vision will come to an end.

Therefore, all commissions will be placed on hold until I recover from my surgery.

๐Ÿ’•I pray the surgery will be a success with no complications so that I can get back to you guys as soon as possible! Thank you to all my watchers for giving me your constant support and love!๐Ÿ’•
